Lathe Machinist II – 2nd Shift (Buffalo, NY)

About the role

Moog is seeking a skilled Lathe Machinist II for the 2nd shift at its Buffalo, NY facility. The role involves producing high‑precision components for aerospace and defense programs, using CNC lathes with milling capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and run CNC lathe machines with milling functions to meet tight tolerances and complex geometries.
• Inspect finished parts, adjust gauging equipment, and identify any deviations or defects.
• Interpret complex drawings, GD&T specifications, and operation sheets.
• Plan work, troubleshoot issues, and work with minimal supervision.
• Maintain accurate documentation of setups and inspections.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED (preferred) and ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• At least 3 years of experience as a CNC Lathe Machinist.
• Demonstrated ability to perform basic arithmetic.
• Knowledge of G‑Code (preferred) and familiarity with Fanuc controls (a plus).
