Lathe Machinist I – 3rd Shift

About the role

Moog is seeking a Lathe Machinist I for the 3rd shift at its Buffalo, NY facility. You will work on high‑precision aerospace and defense components, applying your machining expertise to support critical space and defense programs.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes with milling capabilities to produce parts to tight tolerances and fine finishes.
• Inspect finished work, adjust gaging equipment, and identify any non‑conforming parts.
• Interpret complex GD&T drawings, sketches, and operation sheets.
• Maintain accurate records of setups, inspections, and any deviations.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience as a general machinist; CNC lathe experience preferred.
• Ability to follow escalation procedures for machining issues.
• Familiarity with precision measuring tools such as micrometers and dial bore gauges.
• Strong competency in reading and interpreting blueprints and work instructions.
