Lathe Machinist I - 2nd Shift

About the role

Moog is seeking a Lathe Machinist I for the 2nd shift at its Buffalo, NY facility. You will work on high‑precision aerospace and defense components, applying your machining expertise to support critical space and defense programs.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and run parts on a CNC lathe with milling capabilities, achieving close tolerances and fine finishes.
• Inspect all work, adjust gaging equipment, and detect unusual conditions or deviant parts.
• Interpret complex GD&T blueprints, sketches, and operation sheets.
• Recognize and correct errors in blueprints and operation documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience as a general machinist; CNC lathe experience preferred.
• Ability to follow escalation procedures related to machining.
• Familiarity with measuring tools such as micrometers and dial bore gauges.
• Competent in reading and interpreting blueprints and written work instructions.
