Laboratory Technician – Imaging & Microscopy

About the role

The Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences seeks a Laboratory Technician to support imaging research. The role focuses on acquiring and analyzing digital images from optical and electron microscopy, assisting senior faculty and the Image Analysis Laboratory team.

Key responsibilities

• Collect high‑resolution images from fixed and live cells using optical and electron microscopes.
• Process and analyze image data with specialized software, measuring organelle size, tracking objects, and performing 3D assessments.
• Apply functional fluorescence probes and organelle‑specific labels to evaluate dynamic cellular processes.
• Develop and test label‑free phenotypic assays and deep‑learning models for predicting fluorescence signals.
• Enter and manage data using statistical software and prepare results for publication.

Required profile

• Experience with microscopy techniques and image acquisition.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with research staff.
