Laboratory Manager – College Station

About the role

The Laboratory Manager supports Texas A&M Engineering’s academic and research missions by overseeing laboratory operations, equipment preparation, and safety. Working closely with faculty, teaching assistants, and students, the manager ensures labs run smoothly and safely for both coursework and research projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and set up laboratory equipment for experiments and classes.
• Coordinate laboratory usage across multiple courses, research projects, and student groups.
• Develop and enforce laboratory safety plans and procedures.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, service equipment, and order new items as needed.
• Assist and train graduate teaching assistants on lab operations and safety.
• Supervise students and teaching assistants during lab sessions.

Required profile

• Experience working with faculty and students in an academic laboratory environment.
• Ability to manage multiple lab schedules and resources.
• Strong attention to safety and compliance with university regulations.
• Effective communication skills for instructing lab users.
