Laboratory Coordinator I – Part‑time

About the role

The Laboratory Coordinator I is a part‑time position within the Department of Ocean Engineering at Texas A&M Engineering. The role focuses on maintaining the Ocean Engineering laboratory spaces, ensuring all equipment is safe for use, and supporting the ABET accreditation process.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the safety and functionality of all lab equipment and spaces.
• Keep accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and lab activities.
• Prepare documentation and assist with the ABET certification process.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the department.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent education and experience.
• At least one year of related experience, preferably in laboratory maintenance.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ABET certification standards and processes.
• Experience with lab equipment maintenance and safety checks.
