Lab Tutor in Diesel Equipment Technology

About the role

This part‑time position supports the Diesel Technology program at the North Metro Campus of Chattahoochee Technical College. Working under the supervision of the Associate Dean of Technical Studies & Engineering Technologies and the Dean of Business and Technical Studies, the Lab Tutor helps students succeed in their coursework and laboratory sessions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist students with diesel technology course assignments and hands‑on lab work.
• Set up, take down, and maintain laboratory equipment and tools.
• Ensure compliance with lab safety procedures and state regulations.
• Perform routine checks of diesel electrical and electronic systems used on medium/heavy‑duty trucks and equipment.
• Support the Diesel Technology department with any additional duties defined by the Technical College System of Georgia.

Required profile

• Completion of DIET 1000 and DIET 1010 courses with a grade of C or higher.
• Knowledge of diesel electrical and electronic systems and preventive maintenance procedures for medium/heavy‑duty trucks and equipment.
• Understanding of laboratory safety protocols.
• Ability to provide official or unofficial transcripts via EZHr.
• Preference given to candidates with a related diploma and two years of industry experience or relevant certifications.

What we offer

• Hourly wage of $15.00, up to 22 hours per week during the semester.
• Part‑time, fixed‑term appointment for the academic term.
