About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a Lab Support Technician I to join its Lab Support Services team. This position provides essential assistance to clinical and research laboratories, ensuring smooth daily operations and compliance with safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Assist with specimen handling, processing, and storage according to protocol.
• Perform routine laboratory tests and quality control checks.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory, reagents, and equipment maintenance.
• Support laboratory staff with troubleshooting and technical assistance.
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and infection control guidelines.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training preferred.
• Experience in a clinical or research laboratory environment is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
