Lab Assistant, Cardiovascular

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Lab Assistant to support its Cardiovascular Technology program. This part‑time position will work directly with instructors and students in a hands‑on laboratory environment, ensuring smooth operation of cardiovascular lab sessions and clinical simulations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist instructors during cardiovascular laboratory sessions and clinical simulations.
• Prepare lab spaces, set up cardiovascular equipment, supplies, and instructional materials before each class.
• Maintain, clean, and store lab equipment according to safety and program standards.
• Guide students during lab activities under faculty direction.
• Monitor sessions for compliance with safety protocols and institutional policies.
• Manage inventory, track, stock, and order lab supplies as needed.
• Document equipment usage and support record‑keeping.
• Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to faculty or program leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the Cardiovascular Technology program.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in Cardiovascular Technology or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated knowledge of cardiovascular procedures, equipment, and terminology.
• Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff in an educational setting.
• Preferred: clinical or laboratory experience in a cardiovascular environment and current professional certification (e.g., RCS, RCIS).
