Kitchen Porter

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Kitchen Porter to join the Culinary Department at the Silo Ridge Field Club in Amenia, New York. The role supports the team by keeping all kitchen and food‑service areas clean, safe and ready for service, contributing to the high‑standard experience expected by Discovery Land Company members.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain meticulous cleanliness and orderliness of all food preparation and service areas.
• Ensure safe and sanitary conditions for equipment, surfaces, and utensils.
• Handle the proper storage, movement, and care of kitchen equipment and linen.
• Apply COSHH knowledge to safely use and dispose of cleaning chemicals.
• Perform swift garbage removal and bio‑hazard clean‑up as needed.
• Assist with inventory control of catering equipment, plateware, and cleaning supplies.
• Support culinary staff with side work, organizing, and event clean‑up.
• Communicate task progress verbally and in writing with supervisors.
• Safely drive and maintain vehicles used for transporting catering materials.

Required profile

• Prior experience in hospitality or food‑service environments is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with culinary and F&B teams.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to hygiene standards.
• Good communication skills for shift handovers and task reporting.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate service vehicles.

Required skills

• Knowledge of COSHH regulations and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
• Experience with inventory and linen management.
• Ability to perform bio‑hazard clean‑up safely.
