Kids Camp Attendant

About the role

The Red Barn/Kids Camp Attendant supports children aged 5‑13 in a variety of outdoor and recreational activities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience. This role involves supervising games, sports, arts and crafts, and transporting participants to on‑site and off‑site events.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and participate in games, sports, and arts‑and‑crafts activities for children and prospective members.
• Prioritize safety and enjoyment of all participants, reporting any concerns immediately.
• Supervise and transport children to off‑site events using company vehicles (SUV, golf cart, ATV) while complying with all safety regulations.
• Assist with overnight camping experiences on the property as needed.
• Maintain an organized appearance of the outdoor pursuits (OP) and camp areas throughout the day.
• Set up and break down daily activities according to standard operating procedures.
• Conduct inventory counts and assist with equipment maintenance.
• Demonstrate and train staff on safe use of outdoor recreation equipment.
• Collaborate with the Director of Outdoor Pursuits to develop new amenities and experiences.
• Maintain current certifications for AED, First Aid, and CPR.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor’s degree in early education is a plus.
• Previous experience as a counselor, CIT, or in guest services.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certification required.
• Strong swimming ability and comfort swimming in the ocean.
• Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and excellent communication skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and long hours as needed.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift items up to 50 lb.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
