Karate Zoo Coach - Youth Martial Arts Instructor

About the role

Amazing Athletes is looking for a Karate Zoo Coach to teach young children the fundamentals of martial arts through its Karate Zoo program, which uses animal characters to make learning fun for kids aged 18 months to 6 years. Classes promote physical fitness and values such as discipline, respect and teamwork in a supportive environment. The role is part-time.

Key responsibilities

• Lead classes teaching martial arts basics to children aged 18 months to 6 years
• Use animal characters to make learning enjoyable and engaging
• Develop positive relationships with children and their families
• Follow the curriculum and guidelines provided by Amazing Athletes
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants

Required profile

• At least 18 years old
• Experience working with children (professional or volunteer), preferably in a coaching or teaching capacity
• A love for sports and martial arts and a desire to inspire young children
• Availability for flexible hours, mainly mornings (9am-11am) and afternoons (3-5pm)
• Reliable transportation to travel to various locations
• Ability to engage positively with children and a clean background check

Required skills

• CPR and First Aid certification
• Ability to follow the provided curriculum and guidelines
