K-8 Science Education Specialist

About the role

The K-8 Science Education Specialist will design and develop NGSS‑aligned science instructional resources, collaborating with content, production, and assessment teams to create inquiry‑based tasks for grades 2‑8.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and curation of science activities, lessons, datasets, and instructional resources that support the Next Generation Science Standards.
• Collaborate closely with content, production, and assessment specialists to create high‑quality, inquiry‑based tasks and projects.
• Create or adapt open‑source teaching resources such as investigations, videos, simulations, and datasets for grades 2‑8.
• Engage with a community of science educators to integrate Tuva and NGSS‑aligned materials into classroom practice.
• Initiate and foster partnerships with academic institutions, museums, and other science education groups to support foundational data literacy concepts.

Required profile

• BS, MS, PhD, or Ed.M in Science Education or a related science field with equivalent training experience.
• Strong background in life, physical, or earth science content and familiarity with NGSS and research‑based teaching practices.
• 3‑5 years of successful classroom experience teaching science or mathematics at the elementary or middle‑school level.
• Ability to create cross‑disciplinary curriculum that integrates concepts from multiple subject areas.
• Solid understanding of foundational statistics and data analysis concepts.
• Excellent communication skills and a passion for online learning and empowering educators.
