Junior Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Software Engineer to join SOCOTEC’s US engineering team. In this full‑stack position you will work on modern React front‑ends and Python back‑ends, contributing to AI‑powered features across our global business units.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement end‑to‑end features using React and Python (Django/FastAPI).
• Own small services or components from specification through deployment and operation.
• Contribute to AI‑driven functionality such as prompt engineering, agent workflows, RAG pipelines, and LLM integrations.
• Participate in architecture and design discussions and help shape technical direction.
• Write clean, tested, maintainable code and engage in code reviews.
• Collaborate with engineering leads, DevOps, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into shipped software.
• Support and improve developer practices including CI/CD, testing, documentation, and operational excellence.

Required profile

• 0‑3 years of professional full‑stack software engineering experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable working across time zones and with non‑technical stakeholders.
• Curiosity about AI/ML and a genuine interest in building AI‑powered products.

Required skills

• React (or comparable modern frontend framework).
• Python with Django or FastAPI.
• REST APIs and relational databases.
• Docker containerization.
• Cloud infrastructure (AWS or Azure).
• CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or equivalent).
• Experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic) – preferred.
• Familiarity with agent orchestration frameworks (LangGraph, LangChain) – preferred.
• Knowledge of vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate) and RAG architectures – preferred.
