Junior Software Engineer

About the role

Odoo is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join its North American support team. You will work directly with SMB customers, helping them resolve technical issues and get the most out of Odoo’s ERP platform. The role combines hands‑on coding, problem solving, and customer interaction in a fast‑moving SaaS environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own and resolve support tickets for Odoo tools and services.
• Investigate technical issues, identify root causes, and propose short‑term fixes and long‑term solutions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to address customer and partner challenges.
• Act as a technical advisor, communicating product value to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Manage enterprise support across SaaS, PaaS, and self‑hosted environments.
• Develop solutions using Bash, Python, JavaScript, and PostgreSQL.
• Document resolved issues and share knowledge across customer environments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with Bash, Python, JavaScript, and PostgreSQL (or similar database scripting).
• Understanding of ERP modules such as CRM, Accounting, Inventory, and POS.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and capacity to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Nice to have: 1‑3 years of technical support experience, familiarity with Odoo or similar ERP systems, background in SaaS/start‑up environments, Unix/Linux experience, and additional language skills (Spanish, French, Portuguese).
