Junior RF Engineering Technician

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Junior RF Engineering Technician to support its Dahlgren, Virginia team in support of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) Electromagnetic Effects Division. The role involves operating and maintaining equipment for electromagnetic environmental effects (E3) testing and working closely with customers.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain equipment needed to support Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) testing.
• Support verification testing of Department of Defense and non-DoD developmental and operational weapon and electronic systems.
• Conduct testing to determine whether evaluated systems meet E3 design specifications.
• Assess whether systems can operate safely and reliably in their intended electromagnetic environment.
• Interface and communicate directly with customers.
• Work as part of a team supporting a wide variety of test events.
• Travel up to 10% of the time to support testing activities.

Required profile

• At least one year of general experience in electronics, physics or RF systems.
• Active Secret US Government clearance (US citizenship is required).
• Valid REAL ID driver's license and reliable transportation, as travel between local work sites may be required.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
• On-the-job mentoring is provided.

Required skills

• Knowledge of one or more of: network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, multimeters and Time Domain Reflectometers (TDRs).
• Preferred: vocational or technical training beyond high school.
