Junior Operator – Renewable Energy Operations Center

About the role

The Renewable Operations Center (ROC) Junior Operator is an entry‑level position supporting Spark Power’s 24/7 monitoring of solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) assets across North America. Based in the Dallas/Fort Worth office, you will work with a remote operations team to ensure reliable power generation and storage.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor electrical energy production and storage assets around the clock.
• Respond to requests from balancing authorities and grid operators.
• Identify and triage equipment downtime, telemetry or SCADA interruptions.
• Coordinate with field technicians for remote troubleshooting and corrective actions.
• Escalate production issues and create dispatch tickets with asset managers and owners.
• Support planned maintenance outages and assist technical staff during inspections.

Required profile

• Willingness to undergo a criminal background check.
• Ability to work rotating 12‑hour shifts, including mandatory night shifts.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict operational protocols.
• Flexibility to respond quickly to emergencies and grid operator requests.

Required skills

• Experience with SCADA systems.
• Knowledge of telemetry monitoring.
• Familiarity with remote monitoring of Solar PV installations.
• Understanding of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) operations.
