Junior Mechanical Engineer – Mechanical Design

About the role

Performance Drone Works is expanding its engineering hub in Denver and is looking for a Junior Mechanical Engineer to support the design and development of tactical aerial systems. You will work alongside senior engineers, operators, and cross‑functional teams to turn concepts into reliable hardware.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 3D CAD models and 2D drawings of mechanical components using SolidWorks.
• Assist in prototype builds, test setups, and basic validation activities.
• Document engineering work, including bills of materials, engineering change orders, and design notes.
• Support root‑cause analysis and corrective actions for hardware issues.
• Participate in design reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, electrical, and product teams to ensure design for manufacturability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Foundational experience with 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks.
• Basic knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing standards.
• Familiarity with common manufacturing processes such as sheet metal, injection molding, or machining.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a willingness to learn.
