Junior Mechanical Engineer – Equipment Specialist

About the role

Chitra Productions is looking for a Junior Mechanical Engineer / Equipment Specialist to provide technical support for the Naval Sea Logistics Command engineering department in Mechanicsburg, PA. The role focuses on reviewing and managing technical documentation for U.S. Navy mechanical systems used on ships, submarines, and shore facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, process, and track Technical Data Packages, engineering changes, and alternatives for Navy mechanical systems.
• Prepare and submit reports to the Government team.
• Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and technical data to support development and assessment activities.
• Perform quality reviews of testing and procurement documentation, recommending changes as needed.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship with an active Secret clearance.
• Technical degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Experience reviewing technical documentation for DoD weapons or naval systems.
• Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screen.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Technical documentation review and drawing interpretation.
• Use of automated information system databases (CITIS, JEDMICS, ITIMP, ICAPS).
