Junior Machine Learning Engineer – Hybrid, Indianapolis

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Machine Learning Engineer to join our innovative team in Indianapolis. In this hybrid position you will collaborate with IT and engineering groups to develop AI/ML solutions that drive insights for Rolls‑Royce products. You will work in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment focused on safety, reliability, and cutting‑edge technology.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with IT and Rolls‑Royce engineering teams to identify and implement digital technology opportunities.
• Understand, clean, and analyze large datasets sourced from engine sensors, test rigs, and fleet operations.
• Build, train, and validate machine‑learning models for knowledge search, anomaly detection, production support, and predictive maintenance.
• Document methodologies clearly and present findings to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on safety and quality.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid setting (minimum three days onsite).
