Junior Estimator – Commercial Construction

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Estimator to support the pre‑construction process for commercial construction projects, with a primary focus on retail. This hands‑on role offers early‑career professionals the chance to work closely with senior leadership from conceptual budgeting through bid submission.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for ground‑up and tenant‑improvement retail projects.
• Solicit, level, and analyze subcontractor and supplier bids.
• Assist in creating bid packages, scopes of work, and pre‑construction budgets.
• Participate in pre‑bid site walks and review plans and specifications.
• Maintain subcontractor databases and bid logs.
• Collaborate with project managers to align estimates with client expectations and schedules.
• Track bid deadlines and coordinate timely proposal submissions.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Retail estimating experience is required.
• Ground‑up and tenant‑improvement experience preferred.
• Familiarity with CSI divisions and Phoenix market construction costs.
• Working knowledge of subcontractor bid solicitation and scope leveling.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Bluebeam.
• Proficiency with PlanSwift or similar takeoff/estimating software.
