Junior Designer

About the role

BIG is a global architecture and design practice with studios worldwide. The Los Angeles office is seeking a Junior Designer to support project teams, develop concepts, and contribute to both digital and physical models.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design team in developing and refining concepts.
• Assist in drafting and updating drawings and 3D models.
• Participate in early‑stage design and design development phases.
• Contribute to physical model making as well as digital visualisation.
• Engage actively in team discussions and follow direction from project leads.
• Manage tasks and time effectively to meet project deadlines.
• Work flexibly within fast‑paced project environments.

Required profile

• Accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or a related field.
• 0‑3 years of post‑graduate experience in architecture.
• Strong conceptual and design skills.
• Ability to develop design options collaboratively and take initiative.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English (spoken and written).
• Well‑rounded project experience in concept and detail design (preferred).
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Rhino.
• Experience with V‑Ray.
• Experience with Enscape.
• Adobe Creative Cloud – Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
• Revit (preferred).
• Physical model making.
