Junior Data Engineer – Microsoft 365 & Palantir Foundry

About the role

IPT Associates is seeking a motivated Junior Data Engineer to join its team at Fort Eustis, VA. You will work within the Army Vantage analytics ecosystem, leveraging Microsoft 365 tools and Palantir Foundry to build and maintain data pipelines that support mission‑critical reporting and AI‑assisted workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data pipelines, datasets, and curated data products in the Army Vantage environment.
• Prepare ingested data for manipulation, including standardization, transformation, enrichment, validation, and basic quality checks.
• Structure data to enable visualization, analysis, reporting, and AI‑assisted workflows.
• Apply data modeling and ontology concepts to improve data discoverability and usability.
• Integrate disparate Army databases, FCC tools, and Microsoft 365 data sources.
• Use Dataverse, Power Platform, Power Automate, Power Apps, SharePoint, and Power BI to automate workflows and transition data into Vantage‑ready formats.
• Write and maintain SQL queries and scripts for dashboards, metrics, validation, and ad‑hoc analysis.
• Document data flows, definitions, transformation logic, and engineering processes.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, government analysts, and data scientists while adhering to security and governance policies.

Required profile

• Early‑career, results‑driven data engineer with a logical mindset.
• Experience with low‑code/no‑code development in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
• Familiarity with Palantir Foundry (Army Vantage) or ability to learn it quickly.
• Knowledge of Dataverse, Power Platform, Power BI, SharePoint, and related Microsoft data environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
