Junior Android Developer

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Android Developer to join TeamSideline’s engineering team. You will work on building and enhancing Android applications using Kotlin, collaborating closely with senior engineers and product designers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Android features in Kotlin under senior guidance.
• Write clean, well-documented code, participate in code reviews and create unit tests to improve coverage.
• Analyse and troubleshoot existing code, escalating complex issues when needed.
• Contribute ideas to improve software functionality and help define technology standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including UI/UX designers, to deliver intuitive user interfaces.
• Document code, processes and procedures to ensure knowledge transfer.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and continuously develop technical skills.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 1-3 years of hands-on Android development experience in a production environment.
• Residency in CA, WA, NY, TX or MA.
• Full-time availability, salary-exempt position.

Required skills

• Kotlin programming language.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose for modern Android UI.
• Version control using Git.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Basic knowledge of C# and SQL.
