Jr. Systems Administrator

About the role

The Distribution Control Center is seeking a Junior Systems Administrator to support its computer endpoint environment. You will ensure systems are configured, available, and secure while providing hands‑on technical assistance to end‑users.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain uptime, performance, resource allocation, and security of Control Center systems.
• Install, configure, and update hardware, software, and system patches.
• Monitor and troubleshoot network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Support network security protocols, access controls, backup and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• Provide in‑person and remote technical support for hardware and software issues.
• Coordinate datacenter access, UPS power, cooling units, and vendor maintenance.
• Create and manage user accounts, email, permissions, and asset decommissioning.
• Document configurations, incidents, and prepare performance reports.
• Participate in disaster‑recovery drills, security audits, and vulnerability assessments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 2 years IT experience or Associate’s/technical certification with 4 years experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to attend an in‑person interview.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Required skills

• Microsoft Windows Desktop and Server OS administration.
• PowerShell scripting.
• Microsoft Office suite.
• Imaging and deployment of desktops/laptops.
• Ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow).
• DHCP, DNS, and manual TCP/IP configuration.
• Routers, switches, firewalls.
• UPS monitoring and cooling management.
• Backup, disaster‑recovery, and security protocol implementation.
