Job Captain

About the role

CARMW architecture & interiors is seeking a Job Captain to join its growing San Francisco studio. The role bridges design concepts and technical documentation, ensuring projects move smoothly from initial ideas to construction-ready drawings.

Key responsibilities

• Develop technical drawings and documentation for a variety of architectural and interior design projects.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Project Architects, and consultants to align schedules, budgets, and design intent.
• Research and apply building codes, municipal requirements, sustainability, and accessibility standards.
• Prepare presentations, specifications, and construction documents using RMW templates and best practices.
• Supervise junior team members, conduct quality‑control reviews, and enlist technical leads for full QA/QC.
• Validate materials, finishes, furniture, and building systems against project goals.
• Manage construction administration activities, including site observations, RFIs, and submittals.

• Strong follow‑through and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, creative studio environment.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written/oral communication skills.
• Flexibility to handle multiple assignments within a team structure.
