Job Captain – Architecture & Interiors

About the role

CARMW architecture & interiors is seeking a Job Captain to join its growing San Francisco studio. The role bridges design vision and technical execution, ensuring that architectural and interior projects move smoothly from concept to construction.

Key responsibilities

• Develop technical drawings and documentation for a variety of project types, from initial phases to construction administration.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Project Architects on program, design, budget, and schedule to keep projects on track.
• Select appropriate drawing methods, prepare presentations, and create framework drawing sets for all project phases.
• Research and apply building codes, municipal requirements, and sustainability standards.
• Coordinate consultants, interpret their plans, and integrate their input into the design package.
• Supervise team members, conduct initial QA/QC reviews, and enlist technical leads for full reviews.
• Prepare and oversee design and construction documents using CARMW’s standard templates, details, and forms.
• Validate materials, finishes, furniture, and building systems to meet project goals.
• Conduct site observations, manage RFIs and submittals during construction administration.
