Java Software Developer (Hybrid – New Orleans)

About the role

Goldbelt Nighthawk is seeking a Java Software Developer to join its cybersecurity‑focused development team. The role is hybrid, requiring on‑site presence at the government customer location in New Orleans two days per week, with the remainder performed remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy Java source code for middle‑tier and front‑end components of web‑based applications.
• Convert functional and technical specifications into detailed coding instructions.
• Perform unit testing, troubleshoot issues such as thread dumps, memory leaks, and deadlocks, and document code.
• Collaborate with analysts, developers, and the integrated project team to optimize workflows and resolve problems.
• Provide status updates on tasks, including progress percentages and identified blockers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain a Secret Clearance and pass a National Agency Check.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
