Janitor

About the role

The Janitor at RWB Thrift ensures the store remains clean, safe, and welcoming for customers and staff. You will be responsible for daily cleaning, waste management, and maintaining organized shopping areas in a fast‑paced retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize the sales floor, restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
• Perform sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and surface wiping to meet cleanliness standards.
• Empty trash bins and recycling containers, separating waste according to store policy.
• Collect and return shopping carts or baskets from entrances and parking areas to designated locations.
• Maintain overall organization and appearance of assigned areas throughout each shift.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience in thrift stores, retail, warehouses, or customer‑facing roles is a plus but not mandatory.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lb and exert similar force regularly.
• Capability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions.
• Good manual dexterity, balance, and visual acuity.
• Willingness to wear closed‑toe safety shoes.
