Janitor – Facility Cleaning Specialist

About the role

The Janitor will ensure that public and common areas of a world‑class Dexterra camp facility remain clean, sanitary, and welcoming. As the site expands from 500 to over 4,000 occupants, you will play a key part in maintaining high‑traffic spaces and supporting overall safety and comfort for residents, staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize lobbies, entryways, hallways, stairwells, washrooms, showers, recreation rooms, offices, and shared spaces.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and spot‑clean floors and surfaces; disinfect high‑touch points such as door handles, railings, switches, and counters.
• Empty garbage and recycling, dispose of waste properly, and restock washroom supplies.
• Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces as needed.
• Maintain janitorial equipment, carts, and storage areas in an organized condition.
• Report maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection‑control procedures at all times.

Required profile

• Previous experience in janitorial, cleaning, or facilities maintenance preferred.
• Experience in workforce accommodations, hotels, institutional, or commercial cleaning environments is an asset.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Physically capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 35–50 pounds.

Required skills

• Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, and equipment.
