IVA Spacesuit Project Manager – Space Systems

About the role

We are looking for an IVA Spacesuit Project Manager to lead the development of intravehicular activity (IVA) spacesuits for NASA missions under the JETS II contract. The role is based in Houston and supports the Survival and Thermal Systems section of the Engineering Department.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all phases of IVA spacesuit development from concept through certification, production, and operational support.
• Manage scope, cost, schedule, technical performance, and risk across multiple integrated workstreams.
• Coordinate technical integration between IVA spacesuits and spacecraft systems, including crew interfaces, seats, environmental control, avionics, and communications.
• Lead Integrated Product Teams and collaborate with internal organizations, suppliers, customers, and government agencies.
• Develop project execution plans, Integrated Master Schedules, budgets, and resource forecasts.
• Support major design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, FRR, Certification Reviews) and present status to executive leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems or related).
• 5–10 years of experience leading complex aerospace development programs, preferably with human‑rated spaceflight.

Required skills

• Systems engineering principles and Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
• Project management, including budget, schedule, and risk management.
• Integration of spacesuit systems with crewed spacecraft.
• Experience managing government and commercial aerospace contracts.
