IT Systems Engineer

About the role

The IT Systems Engineer will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and supporting both on‑shore and vessel IT infrastructure at our Harahan, LA location. You will ensure all hardware, software, and network services operate reliably for staff and maritime operations.

Key responsibilities

• Verify server functionality, diagnose issues, and implement solutions.
• Manage servers including file services, Active Directory (DHCP, DNS), Duo, GPOs, printing, Citrix Cloud/on‑prem, Office 365, anti‑virus, and on‑premise SAP.
• Monitor and maintain firewalls, site‑to‑site VPN connectivity, and network equipment.
• Administer SIP phone system, troubleshoot switches, SBCs, phones, and configure call routing.
• Provide help‑desk support, answer calls, create and resolve tickets.
• Coordinate with vendors for support and project work.
• Maintain hardware/software inventory, perform backups, and ensure security compliance.
• Install workstations, set up user accounts, and deliver training to staff.
• Participate in projects supporting both in‑house and vessel IT systems.

Required profile

• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3‑5 years of experience in an IT support role.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft workstation operating systems and Microsoft applications.
