IT Systems Engineer – Enterprise Infrastructure

About the role

Santander is seeking an IT Systems Engineer to own the administration, support and continuous improvement of its enterprise infrastructure. You will work across identity services, virtualization, storage, backup, monitoring and end‑user computing to ensure stability, security and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Administer core infrastructure components such as Active Directory, GPOs, DNS/DHCP, PKI and MFA (DUO).
• Manage virtualization and end‑user environments (VMware, Citrix VDI, RDS) and support on‑prem Exchange.
• Maintain Windows Server platforms, SAN storage and file services (DFS) to guarantee performance and availability.
• Operate backup and disaster‑recovery solutions (Veeam, Zerto; Avamar/Data Domain a plus) including testing and failover readiness.
• Monitor systems and execute patch management across servers and endpoints (SolarWinds, BigFix a plus).
• Ensure technology lifecycle compliance, asset tracking (CMDB) and alignment with enterprise standards.
• Support security and risk initiatives, audits, RCSA and infrastructure hardening.
• Administer development and test environments and assist with deployment and validation activities.
• Lead infrastructure modernization, platform migrations and decommissioning projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of IT or technical application development experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Detail‑oriented, able to produce accurate work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt quickly.
