IT Support Technician – Onsite (Waterville, ME)

About the role

Our client, a higher‑education institution in Waterville, ME, is looking for an IT Support Technician to deliver on‑site technical assistance to faculty, staff, and students. The role emphasizes excellent customer service while resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues on both Windows and Mac platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1‑1.5 technical support for faculty, staff, and students.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, operating system, and network issues across Windows and macOS environments.
• Assist with software installations, printer configuration, device troubleshooting, and general desktop support.
• Visit classrooms, offices, and other campus locations to address time‑sensitive technology problems.
• Support classroom technology and audiovisual systems as needed.
• Document and track all support requests using the ticketing system.
• Collaborate with the IT team to escalate and resolve more complex issues.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in IT support, help‑desk, or desktop support.
• Experience supporting both Windows and macOS operating systems.
• Strong customer‑service orientation with the ability to communicate clearly with non‑technical users.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems independently.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
• Willingness to work fully on‑site in a customer‑facing environment.
