IT Support Technician – Onsite Support for Testing Center

About the role

The IT Support Technician will provide dedicated onsite technical assistance for the DCAS Testing Center located at 300 Cadman Plaza in Brooklyn. The role ensures reliable operation of Windows and macOS computers, peripherals, and network infrastructure in a high‑demand testing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver onsite support for PC hardware, software, printers and other peripherals at the testing center.
• Install, update and maintain Windows and macOS workstations, laptops, handheld devices and printers.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software and network connectivity issues, documenting resolutions.
• Deploy and configure desktops, laptops and printers, and perform routine system administration tasks.
• Conduct hardware and software evaluations, provide technical reviews and recommendations.
• Coordinate with other MTA departments to support project requirements and minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate support records and may be required to assist at other MTA locations.
• Handle physical tasks such as moving and lifting equipment as needed.

Required profile

• 4–6 years of experience supporting PC hardware, software, printers and related peripherals.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365 suite and Outlook.
• Familiarity with Apple macOS operating system.
• Experience with Active Directory, Ethernet cabling and TCP/IP networking.
• Ability to work onsite in Brooklyn and travel to other MTA sites when required.
