About the role

The City of Pearland is seeking a dedicated full‑time IT Support Specialist to join its dynamic Information Technology department. In this role you will keep city operations connected and running efficiently while advancing your own IT career in a fast‑paced municipal environment.

Key responsibilities

• Answer calls, emails and the IT emergency line to provide technical support to city users.
• Implement IT projects for various city departments.
• Install, upgrade, and maintain software for users and vendors.
• Administer and manage IT systems, ensuring they remain reliable and secure.
• Gather data for projects aimed at improving user efficiency and develop new workplace tools.
• Present IT information that can lead to actionable decisions or purchases.
• Enforce IT policies and procedures across the organization.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree or equivalent two years of college coursework in Information Technology or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical support in a municipal or similar environment.
• Strong communication skills to convey technical guidance to non‑technical staff.
