IT Support Specialist (Full-time)

About the role

The City of Pearland is seeking a full‑time IT Support Specialist to provide technical assistance to all city employees and maintain the municipality’s IT infrastructure. This role supports a fast‑paced, high‑tech environment and contributes to keeping the city connected and efficient.

Key responsibilities

• Answer calls, emails and the IT emergency line to provide first‑line technical support.
• Implement IT projects for various city departments.
• Install, upgrade and maintain software for users and vendors.
• Manage and administer IT systems, ensuring optimal performance.
• Gather data and create tools to improve user efficiency.
• Present IT information and guidance to support departmental tasks.
• Enforce IT policies and procedures across the organization.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree or equivalent two years of college coursework in information technology or a closely related field.

Required skills

• Software installation and upgrades.
• IT systems administration and management.
• Technical troubleshooting and user support.
