IT Support Specialist / Desktop Support Technician – Chicago

About the role

We are seeking an IT Support Specialist / Desktop Support Technician to provide on‑site technical assistance for a global financial advisory client in downtown Chicago. The role involves supporting Windows devices, Microsoft 365 tools, and office hardware for both local and remote users.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve issues on Windows laptops and desktops.
• Support Microsoft 365, Outlook, and Teams applications.
• Perform Active Directory tasks such as user provisioning and password resets.
• Maintain printers, peripherals, and other office hardware.
• Troubleshoot remote access and connectivity problems.
• Set up equipment, handle office moves, and manage ticket queues.
• Provide support to on‑site staff and remote employees.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on IT support experience.
• Strong Windows troubleshooting and Microsoft 365 support skills.
• Working knowledge of Active Directory.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service abilities.
• Ability to work onsite five days a week in downtown Chicago.
• Preferred certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+.
• Nice‑to‑have experience with Managed Service Providers, ServiceNow, ConnectWise, BeyondTrust, Azure, AVD, or Netskope.
