IT Specialist II – OT & Cybersecurity

About the role

This role ensures the reliability, security, and regulatory compliance of real‑time Operational Technology (OT) and Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) systems in power‑generation plants. The specialist provides technical leadership for designing, maintaining, troubleshooting and improving OT networks, PLCs, SCADA/DCS, PI historians and cyber‑secure architectures while supporting 24‑hour operations and plant outages.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and secure OT and CIP‑regulated cyber assets through system hardening, patching, backups, security upgrades and compliance activities.
• Design, implement, troubleshoot and enhance complex OT architectures including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA/DCS systems, PI data historians and network appliances such as data diodes, firewalls, switches and routers.
• Provide operational support and lead technical response efforts, including outage support, incident research, performance monitoring and corrective or preventive maintenance.
• Conduct software quality assurance, configuration management and lifecycle planning to ensure system reliability, accurate documentation and long‑term sustainability.
• Perform business and technical analysis to align system capabilities with operational needs, review engineering changes, recommend improvements and develop training, reports, tools or scripts.
• Lead and participate in cybersecurity programs, performing vulnerability assessments, CVE reviews, incident response, portable‑media controls, system walk‑downs and adherence to regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 2 + years of OT solution design experience.
• Knowledge of the end‑to‑end software development process and Operational Technology concepts.
• Familiarity with CIP regulatory requirements and cybersecurity best practices.
