IT Security Operations Specialist / Senior Specialist

About the role

The IT Security Operations Specialist (and Senior Specialist) is an individual contributor responsible for day‑to‑day information security operations. The role protects the organization from evolving internal and external threats by monitoring security controls, supporting incident response, and maintaining security systems.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor security controls such as Data Loss Prevention, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, email security, and SIEM tools; review syslog data and alerts to detect anomalies.
• Gather relevant log information and escalate issues according to established procedures.
• Support execution of incident response procedures, participate in containment and remediation, and document incidents and metrics.
• Provide operational support for security systems, including configuration and vulnerability management, and apply security updates in line with corporate policies.
• Assist with implementation, configuration, and maintenance of security solutions across production, development, test, and disaster‑recovery environments.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal partners, contribute to SOC initiatives, and help educate users.
• Serve as an escalation point for senior‑level security events, analyze trends, and improve detection and response processes.
