Issues, Crisis and M&A Communications Manager

About the role

Join 3M’s Global Communications team as an Issues, Crisis and M&A Communications Manager. You will work with diverse, innovative colleagues worldwide to shape and deliver strategic messaging during high‑stakes situations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop key messages, FAQs, public statements and executive briefing documents for high‑priority issues.
• Lead preparation of senior‑executive briefing materials and coordinate cross‑functional inputs.
• Implement global monitoring processes for regulatory, media and reputational developments and synthesize insights.
• Maintain and enhance global issues and crisis playbooks, tools, templates and workflows.
• Manage live‑issue and crisis activation workflows, documentation, timelines and communication reviews.
• Collaborate with Legal, Government Affairs and business teams to ensure accurate, aligned and compliant communications.
• Support M&A communication planning, content drafting, deliverable coordination and integration communications.
• Produce global reporting, dashboards and performance assessments related to issues and crisis activity.

Required profile

• Proven experience in issues, crisis and M&A communications within a corporate or agency setting.
• Strong ability to synthesize complex information into clear executive briefings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to brand voice and tone.
• Experience working cross‑functionally with legal, government affairs and business units.
• Demonstrated capability to manage multiple high‑pressure projects simultaneously.
