IS Security Architect

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking an experienced IS Security Architect to lead the technical direction of information security applications and solutions. You will ensure that security initiatives align with the organization’s business strategy and support the delivery of safe, reliable patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Define and guide the technical roadmap for security applications across the enterprise.
• Design, develop, and implement security solutions that address complex business problems.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their impact on security architecture.
• Analyze business, technology, and threat drivers to create practical security roadmaps.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, SMEs, and leadership to secure buy‑in for security initiatives.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of information technology security experience in a regulated industry.
• Preferred certifications: SANS GIAC, ISC2 CISSP, or other advanced security certifications.
• Strong verbal, written, and diagrammatic communication skills.

Required skills

• Technical knowledge of IT infrastructure and security infrastructure.
• Experience with SOA integration and enterprise integration services.
• Understanding of the Systems Development Life‑Cycle (SDLC) and its challenges.
• Project management ability for medium to large, complex health‑IT projects.
