Irrigator – Golf Course Maintenance

About the role

The Irrigator will join the Golf Course Maintenance Department at Maverick Golf and Ranch Club, supporting the Director of Agronomy in maintaining optimal soil moisture across all playing surfaces.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and manage moisture levels on greens, tees, fairways and rough.
• Inspect, adjust and maintain irrigation heads and drip‑irrigation systems.
• Operate turf‑grass equipment such as tractors, loaders, backhoes, mowers, string trimmers and skid steers.
• Mow and hand‑trim greens, tees, fairways and rough using walk‑behind and riding mowers.
• Perform hand watering, sod installation, planting, mulching and basic landscaping tasks.
• Assist in construction and renovation of new greens, tees and fairways.
• Execute general ground‑working duties including ditch excavation and back‑filling.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Positive attitude, professional demeanor and strong communication skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Irrigation system maintenance.
• Operation of utility vehicles, tractors, loaders and backhoes.
• Use of reel and rotary mowers, string trimmers and other turf‑grass equipment.
