Irrigation Technician – Golf Course Maintenance

About the role

The Irrigation Technician will join the Golf Course Maintenance Department at Maverick Golf and Ranch Club in Fort Worth, Texas. Working closely with the Director of Agronomy and Assistant Superintendents, you will oversee the installation and ongoing performance of a state‑of‑the‑art irrigation system for a new Tom Fazio designed course.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and verify quality of the new irrigation system installation, ensuring contractor compliance with design specifications.
• Maintain and repair all irrigation components, including sprinklers, water lines, pumps, valves, and electrical parts.
• Monitor system performance, input accurate data into the central control computer, and adjust settings as needed.
• Repair sprinklers and pipes, keep equipment clean and properly calibrated.
• Manage inventory of irrigation parts and order replacements promptly.
• Assist with precision hand‑watering of putting greens and other turf surfaces.
• Support other golf‑course maintenance tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in golf‑course irrigation.
• At least 3 years of experience installing and repairing irrigation systems.
• Proven ability to operate and maintain irrigation equipment.
• Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and strong communication skills.
• Team‑oriented, able to stay calm during busy periods.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and shifts longer than 8 hours.
• Fluent in English; additional languages a plus.
• Physically capable of meeting the job’s demands.
