IPT Lead Engineer – Development (Motion Control)

About the role

Moog’s Space and Defense Group is seeking an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead Engineer to drive development of advanced anti‑ballistic missile and next‑generation ICBM systems. Based onsite in Buffalo, NY, you will work closely with prime customers, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver high‑performance hardware for critical defense applications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the review, design, development, and implementation of complex actuation and avionics systems.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams, external partners, and vendors throughout the product lifecycle.
• Develop multi‑year technical plans, ensure integration, testing, maintenance, and regulatory compliance.
• Manage staffing, resource allocation, and future engineering needs to support business growth.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for customers and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 5+ years with a Master’s degree (equivalent experience may substitute for education).
• Proven ability to quickly grasp new concepts and organize work to meet established timelines.
• Strong communication skills and experience leading technical teams.
