IP Counsel / Senior Counsel

About the role

JobKoch is looking for an experienced intellectual property attorney to join its integrated IP Legal Capability as Counsel or Senior Counsel. The position will support Koch’s global businesses on trademark, copyright and domain name matters and can be based in Atlanta, GA, Lisle, IL or Wichita, KS.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a broad portfolio of trademark, trade dress and copyright matters, including enforcement, litigation, disputes, licensing, settlements and clearance.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to the trademark paralegal team on domestic and international prosecution.
• Offer strategic counsel on global trademark and domain name portfolios and coordinate with outside counsel.
• Address copyright issues related to online content, social media, fair use, privacy and publicity rights.
• Negotiate and draft IP agreements such as trademark and copyright licenses and talent releases.
• Conduct IP due diligence and draft/ negotiate IP terms for M&A transactions.
• Drive IP team transformation initiatives, including process optimization and AI adoption.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and admission to a state bar in good standing.
• At least 5 years of experience handling trademarks, copyrights and domain names.
• Demonstrated experience providing IP analysis for M&A due diligence.
• Experience coaching or supervising paralegal teams is preferred.
• Strong analytical, communication and strategic thinking abilities.
