iOS Software Engineer – Electronic Flight Bag (EFB)

About the role

Beacon AI is building an AI‑driven flight safety platform. We are looking for an iOS Software Engineer to create high‑impact iPad applications that serve as Electronic Flight Bags (EFB) for pilots, handling real‑time wind, weather, and navigation data.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement iOS features using Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, and modern iOS frameworks.
• Build and maintain high‑performance mobile apps that process large datasets (e.g., millions of weather points) in real time.
• Develop EFB functionality, including location services, map navigation, and precision aviation instrument displays.
• Integrate external hardware and edge devices for real‑time data ingestion.
• Architect offline‑first experiences and graceful‑degradation strategies for low‑connectivity environments.
• Implement background processing and long‑running compute tasks with Swift Concurrency, async/await, and background‑task APIs.
• Apply data‑security best practices such as Keychain storage and encryption.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and designers, participate in code reviews, and ensure code quality through testing and documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 + years of professional iOS development experience.
• Proven experience with Swift and SwiftUI.
• Background in building EFB or similar aviation‑focused mobile applications.
• Ability to handle large, real‑time datasets efficiently.
• Experience designing offline‑first mobile experiences.
