iOS Software Engineer – Electronic Flight Bag (EFB)

About the role

Beacon AI is looking for an iOS Software Engineer to join its mobile team and build high‑impact iPad applications that power its flight safety platform. You will work closely with senior engineers and designers to deliver reliable, real‑time aviation tools that operate offline and handle massive data sets.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement iOS features using Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, and modern iOS frameworks.
• Build and maintain high‑performance mobile applications that process large wind and weather data sets in real time.
• Develop Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) capabilities, including location services, map navigation, and aviation instrument displays.
• Integrate external hardware and edge devices for real‑time data ingestion.
• Architect offline‑first experiences and graceful degradation for low‑connectivity environments.
• Implement background processing and long‑running compute tasks with Swift Concurrency, async/await, and background‑task APIs.
• Apply data‑security best practices such as Keychain storage and encryption.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and designers, participate in code reviews, and ensure code quality through testing and documentation.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience developing iOS applications.
• Hands‑on experience building Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) applications.
• Proficiency with location services, map navigation, and integration of external hardware.
• Demonstrated ability to handle large data sets efficiently and design offline‑first solutions.
• Experience with Swift Concurrency (async/await) and background processing.
• Knowledge of iOS data‑security practices, including Keychain and encryption.
