Inventory Control Specialist

About the role

Moog’s Space and Defense Group is looking for a detail‑oriented Inventory Control Specialist to support the Materials Manager for Motors at its offshore facilities. Based onsite in Blacksburg, VA, you will ensure accurate inventory levels, perform daily counts and help develop control procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble and compute data from multiple sources to generate statistical inventory reports.
• Maintain adequate inventory of materials and products in line with inventory cycles.
• Conduct daily physical inventory checks and reconcile offshore cycle counts.
• Interpret documentation, production schedules, bills of materials, E‑BOMs and MRP reports.
• Develop and implement inventory control procedures and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Communicate inventory issues and corrective actions with Production Control, Materials Manager and offshore vendors.
• Support meetings, audits and data requests using SharePoint, workflow tools and ETQ software.
• Assist in training and cross‑training of team members while preserving confidentiality of sensitive information.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of clerical/data‑entry experience, or an associate degree with 3 years of similar experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel internationally 2–3 weeks per year (one week at a time).
