About the role

Brooklyn Lab seeks an Interventionist and Testing Skills Teacher for the 2026‑27 school year. The role supports middle and high school scholars by bridging academic gaps and teaching strategies for high‑stakes standardized tests.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide in‑class, one‑on‑one, or small‑group academic support, reinforcing teacher instruction and keeping students on task.
  • Assist teachers with instructional accommodations such as chunking tasks, preferential seating, extended time, visual supports, and guided organizers.
  • Teach test‑taking strategies for Regents, SAT/ACT, and AP exams, including pacing, elimination techniques, passage analysis, anxiety management, and stamina building.
  • Deliver targeted content review and practice sessions based on diagnostic data, and facilitate small‑group or individual test‑prep sessions.
  • Collaborate with teachers, deans, and coaches through weekly check‑ins, schedule coordination, and coverage during staffing shortages.

Required profile

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • NY State Teaching Certification (or equivalent) preferred.
